Our panelists for this session are:

  • Mark Thielman is the author of the Johnson and Nance mysteries, set in the splendor of America’s national parks. Mark’s short fiction has twice received the Black Orchid Novella Award and been included in The Best Private Eye Stories of the Year (2025). A career prosecutor for both Tarrant and Dallas Counties, Mark also served as a criminal magistrate. He is the president of SINC North Dallas. His third book, The Firefall, will be published on April 14th.

  • Award-winning author Becky Clark has been writing humorous books for both kids and adults since 2001. Even her nonfiction EIGHT WEEKS TO A COMPLETE NOVEL receives kudos for being funny and accessible. Over the years she has developed many tricks and tips to speed up her writing because the key to a professional writing career is to consistently produce books. Becky is a hybrid author, with feet planted in both the independent publishing world and the traditional publishing world. She is the seventh of eight kids, which explains both her insatiable need for attention and her atrocious table manners.
