Bookmarks are an often-underestimated — but great — marketing tool for authors. In a recent SinC-Up Tip, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Joanna Cambell Slan offered her top takeaways for a good one:

- You don’t have to feature your cover. A different, striking graphic might get more attention.
- Use a clear and easily readable font
- They should be cheap: you want to be able to give them out everywhere!
- Make it clickable: include a QR code that sends readers directly to a place to buy your book.
