For some writers, the hardest part of the project is just sitting down and starting it.

In a recent Instagram Live, SinC’s Mindy Quigley talked to writer, therapist, and coach Liz Bullard about ways to clear the roadblocks and get moving. Liz’s top tips:

Barrier assessment: have an honest conversation with yourself about why you are stuck. This will help you create a realistic plan.

Reflect: build a habit of auditing your resilience and engagement in your creative work. This will help you recognize where and why the stagnation is happening. 🤔

Create sustainable goals: instead of writing every day from a no writing point set a realistic goal to write for five minutes or at least one word a day

✅ Celebration and reinforcement: Consider what you will do to fuel your drive. 🎉

Accountability: it’s harder to go days without writing when you set systems of accountability where that be personal or communal. 👯‍♂️
