What does SinC mean to me? I first heard about Sisters In Crime when I attended my first Bouchercon event in 2011. I wasn’t sure how they would help me as a reader, but I attended several SinC webinars / workshops to understand the world of book publishing. The knowledge I gained helped me improve my offerings on my blog. It also enabled me to unravel the intricacies of the book industry as it relates to marketing, promotions, and networking. As I often said, “I had no desire to write,” but the writing seminars that I’ve taken helped hone my blog and gave me an appreciation of the journey authors take from an idea through all the rigorous stages before finally seeing their book on a retailer’s shelf. So when I had the opportunity for me to co-write a short story, I was able to use the skills that I’ve gained from the many offerings from SinC. Also, just standing on the sidelines, I got to witness the inner workings of this fine organization and how they treat their members and non-members as well.

Dru Ann was Fan Guest of Honor at Malice (2022), Left Coast Crime (2023), and Bouchercon (2023) conventions.
